GTZ in Cambodia

Cambodia is a priority partner country for German development cooperation. GTZ has been operating in the country on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) since 1994.

GTZ projects support national policies in strategically important areas. They contribute actively to the implementation of the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP). Their influence and degree of effectiveness are augmented by developing alliances with other organizations and by linking practical implementation experience with activities at the policy level.

In cooperation with the projects of other donors, GTZ

focuses on the following priority areas:

The promotion of democracy, civil society and rule of law are cross-cutting themes in all Cambodian- German cooperation projects. Additional cross-cutting themes are the promotion of women’s rights and support in the decentralization process.
